I think I may of hit a knitting wall

It’s been a while. Wall

I went from knitting 24/7 throughout lockdown whilst on maternity leave - making over 100 hats and knitting till 12pm some nights to pretty much nothing accept personal projects. As much as l enjoyed knitting, the constant pressure to get them all done took the fun out of it I think, and it started to become a chore and not a hobby. Also, having a newborn did not help, that newborn tiredness hits you differently.

But! I am back, I've found that doing drop shops are for me and a commission every so often is much more my thing! It's weird because I have a million hobbies and depending on where my ADHD takes me, I will always come back to knitting and crochet.

I will be doing it slightly differently this time though, i’m going to do small quantities of each item and sell them once they are ready & my main focus will be baby clothing and blankets buuut, ifI get time I will try and do some adults hats. I'm currently 6 months pregnant so using my knitting machi ne is out of the question, so much so that it's actually been packed away and put in my loft so making the hats is kind of last on the agenda as I won’t be able to knit my traditional style hat with 4ply, I’d have to hand knit using thicker yarn, which then changes my sizing maps I made… bit of a nightmare. I’ve considered doing little pop up stalls too at local fairs but I think I’d need to make quite a bit before I sign up for one of those… maybe in winter?

Anyhoo, I have 11 weeks left at work and then l finish for maternity leave for baby number 2, so roll on the knitting! I also want to start offloading my patterns out of my brain and onto paper for you all, it’ll take me absolutely ages but I’d love to offer them to other people to use, I currently have no friends that knit or crochet so I’d love to turn you all to the fibre world.

The cardigan below will be the first pattern I type up, I’ve slowly started doing it whilst I’ve been signed off for a couple weeks (keeps me from dying of bordem). Once it’s completed I’ll get it uploaded.
