FREE bootie pattern below! Very easy and perfect for a beginner knitter. They make perfect baby gifts and they only need a maximum or 70mtrs of yarn so they are good for using up left over scraps of yarn.
Follow the pattern below and DM me on Instagram if you have any questions :) It should also be available to download using the link below.

Knitting Level: Beginner
Sizes and approx. finished measurements: I have tested this pattern many times for my own children, but I am not responsible for changes in length or size of the pattern. It is normal for knitting to vary – especially if you are changing the yarn, needle size or prefer a tighter tension. This pattern is purely a guide – I am happy to help you if you are stuck! INSTRUCTIONS
Cast on 31 (35) (39) STS with 4mm needles.
Row 1, 3, 5, 7: Knit.
Row 2: K1, M1, K14 (16), M1, K1, M1, K14 (16), M1, K1.
Row 4: K2, M1, K14 (16), M1, K3, M1, K14 (16), M1, K2.
Row 6: K3, M1, K14 (16), M1, K5, M1, K14 (16), M1, K3.
Row 8: K4, M1, K14 (16), M1, K7, M1, K14 (16), M1, K4.
Rows 9-18: Knit.
Row 19: K27 (29) (31) SSK, turn.
Row 20: SL1, P7, P2TOG, turn.
Row 21: SL1, K7, SSK, turn.
Repeat Rows 20 and 21 6 (8) (10) times (34 STS).
Next Row: SL1, P7, P2TOG, K to EOR (33 STS). If you would
You can downsize to 3.75 or 3.5mm needles now – but I tend not to. It will just create a tighter ankle.
Row 1: Knit
Row 2: K1, P1, repeat from to last ST, K1.
Row 3: SL1, K1, P1, repeat from to EOR.
Row 4: SL1, P1, K1, repeat from to last ST, K1.
Repeat these last two rows 12 (14) (18) more times.
Cast off.
For a cast off I like to use a loose one. I will show you how to do it below.
To finish
Sew up the back and foot seam, fold the cuff down and place your tag if you have one. These also look nice with some ribbon or knitted cord tied through them – it’s also a good way for them to be made tighter if slightly too big (prevents falling off).
